Clairemont Townhouse
A four-story brownstone renovation demanding contemporary comfort within a landmark-designated structure — no ductwork, no visible penetrations, and outdoor equipment limited to the rear yard.

Recessed wall-panel units were specified in place of standard cassettes to preserve ceiling height on all four floors. Each unit was framed within custom millwork that the interior designer integrated into their furniture plan.

Three outdoor units were positioned on a vibration-isolated platform in the rear yard, screened by a slatted cedar enclosure designed with the landscape architect. Acoustic testing confirmed compliance with NYC residential noise ordinance.

The parlor floor — requiring the highest capacity — receives supplemental supply from a roof-mounted unit through a purpose-engineered vertical chase that was coordinated with the structural team before construction began.
